Position purpose:
As our Group Manager - Catchment Management, you will lead strategic initiatives to manage natural hazards, including floods, coastal erosion, and seismic risks. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement comprehensive plans, leveraging innovative engineering solutions and stakeholder collaboration to safeguard our communities and environment.
Desired Skills and Experience
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a 10-year natural hazard strategy, guiding risk management efforts with a focus on flooding, coastal erosion, and seismic activity.
Lead the strategic planning, design, and implementation of critical flood protection infrastructure, ensuring alignment with risk management plans and sustainability principles.
Manage flood risk and land use, supporting comprehensive flood management plans and overseeing flood warning systems.
Formulate and execute comprehensive tendering strategies for procurement and project management, ensuring efficient and transparent processes.
Direct asset management plans for hazard mitigation infrastructure, collaborating with stakeholders to enhance reporting and operational efficiency.
Foster partnerships and stakeholder relationships to ensure an integrated approach to natural hazard management.
Support the CEO in meeting strategic goals through strong executive leadership and budget management.
Lead health and safety initiatives, ensuring adherence to legislation and safety procedures.
What we are looking for:
Strong leadership and strategic planning skills, with experience in natural hazard management.
Technical expertise in engineering and risk management, with a focus on floods, coastal erosion, and seismic risks.
Proven ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and lead multidisciplinary teams.
Experience in project management, procurement, and contract negotiation.
